Immiseration…
22nd June 2025
Hello my most beautiful and precious starshine,
I really hope you managed to sleep well (it was extra hot last night), and you enjoyed a very slow and lazy morning. I hope you’re okay my lovely {} xxx
It feels like we’re waking up to nightmares at the moment. I know things go up and down, but we need a lot more ups. It’s scary. Edwin Starr’s War keep playing in my head. I remember you hearing it last year, and you saying how you would’ve loved to see him live. Edwin and the song are brilliant. Here he is on Jools.
This feels very apt as well:
“Word of the day is ‘immiseration’: The act of making people progressively more miserable” Susie Dent Twitter
Especially more impoverished.
I’ve just joined the greens. Erasure’s It Doesn’t Have To Be comes to mind. It really doesn’t. Everything that’s happening is so unnecessary and frustrating. I can’t help but feel helpless.
I know you’ll be busy creating lots of culinary magic. Take it gently my lovely with lots of relaxing breaks in-between. I hope you don’t finish too late, and you do have some time to rest before bedtime {} xxx
The effects of the salt are still in my system. I hope my heart rate remains more normal for a bit longer, along with my nervous system. It does feel like a miracle at the moment.
Speaking of miracles, Bougainvillea is sparkling with leaves and looks healthy. It’s wonderful seeing her blossom. Kalanchoe, or Flaming Katy, is on fire as well. The leaves are healthy and the flowers are the biggest I’ve seen.
Fuchsia got shoved out of the window a few weeks ago by wind and curtain. Miraculously she was in tact despite the pot being shattered. She’s flourishing as well. These three are very resilient. They keep going, and the right medicine is now helping them shine…
You take the greatest and gentlest care of yourself my precious angel. I’m thinking of you and sending you tons and tons of magical healing love, comforting hugs and soothing kisses. They’ll be with you all the time {} xxxx
