With the high temperatures, here’s a red liver warning from Met Éireann. I hope she gives you a good belly laugh!! How’s your liver? Mine almost exploded a few weeks ago, and I talked shite to myself.
It’s 19:19 xx I saw the most adorable blackbird in the garden earlier. I do love the long lens. Helps me see!! They looked so happy sunbathing. Stunning feathers, but I wondered how they manage to keep cool.
Just found the answer! I thought the blackbird was happy, but they were panting to keep themselves cool!! I never knew that the loss of moisture in their lungs, throat and mouth, due to the rush of air, helps absorb the heat, thus keeping them cool. I imagine you already know this xx
I also learnt that some non-UK birds’ poo on themselves, to keep themselves cool. Evaporation is working its magic once again.
It’s terrifying to see how rapidly the climate’s changing, isn’t it? I do know someone who doesn’t think global warming exists, despite struggling in the intense heat. Once again, I really do hope you’re loved ones are keeping safe and well {} xx
