Shampoo of Yesteryear…

I’m feeling very ill at the moment. Chills are bad. My emotional state is much worse during these times. I wish I could rest peacefully. I’m thankfully getting good sleep, and this is saving me as well.
Someone posted, “Name an old-school shampoo everyone knew back in the day”. I thought of you xx There were a number of people who said washing-up liquid. Vosene, which I grew up with, was popular as well. Vosene was green, just like washing up liquid.
I use the original Fairy washing-up liquid to wash my hands with, because most of the hand washes irritate me.
I do need to wear a mask when I make the shampoo. The xanthan gum is a very fine powder, and it affected me and my immune system severely. It’s likely the decyl glucoside might also affect me.
I will wait another week to make another test sample, but I’m not too far off with trying 8% of decyl glucoside. I found a recipe that used similar proportions of decyl glucoside, xanthan, glycerin and water. This was a comforting and reassuring find. I do need to trust myself.
All the other recipes I found contained much larger amounts of decyl glucoside (or other surfactants) and glycerin. They would be too harsh and irritating for me.
It’s 10:10 xx Sun’s shoved the dark clouds away and is starting to shine again. Its glowing presence is much needed today.
I haven’t heard Red Box’s Lean on Me for years, and I forgot how great the song and video are. Then there’s Cutting Crew’s I’ve Been In Love Before. I remember recording it on tape from the radio. The end was cut off. I listened to it so many times. I hope you enjoy revisiting them later my beautiful sweetheart {} xxx
I almost forgot, did you know that Only Fools and Horses had a different theme tune in the first series? I was completely shocked to hear it. It sounds like a tune for a game show. It’s good they changed it. What do you think?
