What’s Your “Favourite Fucking Tree”?…
8th September 2026
Good morning my most beautiful and precious starshine,
It’s 10:10 xx How are you my lovely? I hope you’re keeping really well and you slept restfully {} xxx It did get chilly overnight. I hope you were snug and warm.
I also hope you’re having a really good start to the week, and everything is going well. I imagine everyone is happily settling in and bursting with lots of exciting ideas. Brilliant!!
I hope coffee is taking good care of you as well. They’re waiting to give you lots of warm hugs and kisses from me too {} xx
Here’s something for you to relax to when you get home, Pourquoi Pas? by Tomás Gubitsch. I hope you enjoy it my beautiful sweetheart {} xxx
I’ve just taken some L-arginine. I really can’t function without it, especially my brain. I will need it for life, just like my thyroxine and oxygen.
There’s a chance I’ll start bleeding again, but I have to balance it. I will be thankful when the monthlies are fully over. They definitely are an unwanted friend.
Speaking of the unwanted, the far-right protest in Portsmouth and Dover are terrifying, aren’t they?! It feels like we’re living in a parallel universe at the moment. The narrative under the guise of concerned protesters, is frightening as well.
There’s a clip of an interview with Danny Thomas, in which he says that he was contacted by an American think tank. They knew he didn’t have any funds, so they gave him £30,000 so that it could be “what it needed to be”. This is how the far right are getting their grip globally, isn’t it?
We’re seeing how easy it is, aren’t we? The only saving grace is that Reform are slipping in the polls, but they still have the loudest voice. It feels like we have to ride this unwanted wave out.
Liron wasn’t surprised with AfD’s win in Saxony-Anhalt. She told me years ago that she wouldn’t take me to places like Dresden, because I wouldn’t be safe with the racism there. This was expected in East Germany.
You might already know this, one of AfD’s policies is to send disabled and immigrant children to different schools. I read this before their win and was shocked by it. History is repeating itself. The spread has been slower than COVID, but just as deadly.
I just found out that CIRCA are inviting people to share a story of their “Favourite Fucking Tree”, along with a photo, drawing or video of that tree. It’s a beautiful project. Sadly, the deadline is tomorrow, 9th September. The images will be shared by them and Ai Weiwei on Instagram, with 9 people receiving a signed limited edition of Ai Weiwei’s print.
I thought of you and your magnificent autumnal tree. What is the story of your “favourite fucking tree”?
My first significant memory of drawing was at junior school. It was after my mum and I returned from India. We were asked to draw a tree from our imagination, on large sheets of paper on the floor. My teacher singled me out. They loved my tree and encouraged me to draw. This memory stayed with me. It was the first time someone said I was really good at something.
What are your first significant memories of drawing and playing an instrument? What did you draw and what did you play?
It’s 11:22 xx You must be thoroughly enjoying, or have just enjoyed, your delicious quiet moment with coffee. Brilliant!! I hope you feel happy and energised by their sparky company xx
The L-arginine is kicking in. It’s my energy pill. I feel the difference with my brain. It’s tingling, so I need to stop writing and rest, but the dense fog has cleared and it’s working. I’m so lucky to have found it. I’m so lucky to have found you too {} xxx
Take the greatest and gentlest care of yourself my precious starshine {} Have a wonderful day filled with lots of magic moments xx
I hope it flies by and there are no late nights this week. Play and rest well in the evenings my lovely {} xxx
I love you so much, and I’m sending you an infinite amount of magical healing and protective love, hugs and kisses. They’re always with you {} xxxx
Here’s a video of Ai Weiwei’s first drawing in 50 years, of the 1,200 year old Major Oak Tree, which was declared dead after the devastating fire in Sherwood Forest this summer.
“That drawing became A Tree, a meditation on time, memory, loss and our enduring relationship with the natural world” – CIRCA 2026
It’s 13:13 xx You must be getting ready to make your sweet tum very happy. Do you have a salad or something warming? I need something warming, so it’s some premade mash and tuna. Autocorrect was trying to make me say Tina!! Poor Tina would be turning in her grave!!
I thought it was just Farage copying Trump’s 100 day pledge. Alice Weidel did the same before the election in Saxony-Anhalt. I just saw a clip. They’re all playing with the same playbook.
Thoroughly enjoy your stupendous lunch my lovely. I’m keeping everything crossed you have a little bit of quiet time. Let’s enjoy our yummy lunches together {} xxx
