Wondrous October…

14th October 2025

Hello my most beautiful and precious starshine,

How are you my lovely? I really do hope you’re okay and you had a restful and peaceful night’s sleep {} xxx I haven’t seen you in my dreams for a very long time. I always hope. You do sing me to sleep every night though, which is lovely {} xx

It’s 11:44. I imagine you loved your relaxing moment with coffee. They’ll be giving you extra warm hugs and kisses from me as well. I hope everything is going extremely well and it’s not too full on. There must be a lot of magic and excitement in the air.

I would love to know how you are {} xx

I am struggling and I’m at my limit. It’s just packing things for tomorrow, and shower. I made hair happy yesterday, so she didn’t need to cover herself up for the blood test. I’ll be so glad when tomorrow’s over.

Regardless of how I’m feeling with my health, I can’t stop writing to you. I wrote most of this last night, but I didn’t have the energy to finish it and post it.

The brilliant There Is a Light That Never Goes Out was released on 12th October 1992, 33 years ago. I never knew it was released five years after The Smiths broke up. This is beautiful version by Johnny Marr at 6 Music Festival 2022

With John Lennon’s birthday on the 10th and Kirsty MacColl’s the day after, October is indeed a very special and magical month.

It’s the first time I’ve heard the original of Time is On My Side by Kai Winding and Gospelaires. It’s fantastic. I’ve just checked, it was released on 3rd October 1963. Such a surprise. Told you!! The stars came out for you {} xx

I always thought Time is On My Side was by The Rolling Stones. I first heard the song in the film Fallen. Have you seen it? The spirit of an executed serial killer uses people as hosts to commit more murders. I remember enjoying it years ago.

I also heard Jugband Blues by Pink Floyd for the first time. It’s wonderful isn’t it?!! I just checked. You’re not going to believe it. It was recorded on 19th October 1967. Wow!! You would’ve loved the Pink Floyd exhibition at the V&A. It was jam packed though. I didn’t have WhatsApp then so couldn’t send you my photos. I’m sure I spoke with you by text that day. I only got WhatsApp because you asked me to. Thank you so much my lovely {} xxx

I always hated phones and was very late getting a mobile phone. The thought of someone getting hold of me all the time, terrified me. Up until about nine years ago, I only used it for emergencies. I’m no longer terrified of it. It’s now practically stuck to my hand and used for most things, including writing these letters to you {} xx

It’s 12:12. Take the greatest care of yourself my precious sweetheart, and thoroughly enjoy your delicious lunch me too. I hope you’ll have a peaceful moment and the afternoon flies by. Then you can enjoy the most beautiful and restful evening filled with all the things you love {} xxx

I’m keeping everything crossed the traffic’s not too bad for you. There’s lots of road works going on at the moment. I almost forgot, I saw a sign with your namesake, on my way from the hospital yesterday. Made me smile and warmed my heart. You’re my light that never goes out {} xxx

I love you so much, and I’m sending you tons and tons of love, with the biggest and tightest of magical healing and protective bear hugs, bursting with sunshine kisses {} xxxx

Sweet Lullaby…

Letters of Love, Regret and Hope
